You can redeem Blue Star Extreme Gear in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, but don’t take too long!
Like in Sonic Riders, I should say, the hoverboard is back, but you should hurry to add this to your racing history and garage.
Also, starting now, there is another reason why passionate kart racing lovers should sign in for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. For the Blue Star Extreme Gear hoverboard, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is giving away a free piece of DLC, but only until October 30, 2025. In appreciation of the successful launch, the game will only be available for claiming until October 30, 2025.
All of the four steps can be done in a matter of minutes, and there is no hassle figuring out how to access the DLC. In this blog, I’m going to discuss the expanding Sonic Racing universe.
How to Claim Blue Star Extreme Gear
Like many in-game unlocks that add to the challenge of the game, the steps can be completed. Simply follow the steps. While a 5-minute job is only that, linking accounts can be a hassle.
- Step 1: www.sega.com/ rewards
- Step 2: For the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, click the “Claim Your Award” button under reward card.
- Step 3: To sign up for an account, visit SEGA’s website and complete the form, if you don’t already have an account. Otherwise, just sign into the account.
- Step 4: SEGA can be accessed directly from the gaming consoles: PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
- Step 5: Each platform has its own digital store such as the PlayStation Store and the Nintendo eShop. They store codes that redeem new DLC, and you will be granted one from SEGA to unlock the gear.

When you log into the game, after unlocking, you will find the Blue Star Extreme Gear in the Boost section of the gear collection. This is one of the vehicles that you can have; the gear is also customizable, so players can have several colors, which can be matched to characters.
Important Considerations for Players
These points listed below will help you to determine if you are ready to claim a reward.
One plus account: With one SEGA account, a player is able to receive the free DLC for one platform. To receive the Blue Star on multiple platforms, a player will have to create a new SEGA profile for every platform used.
Important Note for Nintendo Switch Users: Nintendo Switch users distinguish between Switch One and Switch Two while claiming Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Should you redeem the code for the Switch One version, you won’t receive Switch Two bonus features at launch for free. You may have to redeem yet another code, but this time on a different Nintendo account.
Remember the Cut Off Date: The promotional DLC offer expires on October 30th, 2025. After the expiration date, the DLC will probably be taken off the rewards page and available for purchase, but there’s no promise you can get it again for free.
A Nostaglic Nod to Sonic Riders
To die-hard SEGA fans, the Blue Star is more than just a new vehicle. To those in the know, it’s a hoverboard and a direct callback to the 2006 game Sonic Riders and one of the legendary Extreme Gear items. Adding it to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds shows there’s a deliberate attempt to invoke nostalgia and reward fans who’ve stuck around the series for years.
The Sonic Racing CrossWorlds game is heavily carrying star bonuses, fan service DLCs. The game became available for play on September 25, 2025, and reviews for this game are almost set in stone. It is considered one of the most highly positioned competitors to games such as Mario Kart World. The marketing strategy focuses heavily on fan service and character bonuses which helps place Sonic Racing CrossWorlds on the competitive level of other games in the genre filling the charter roster with other contents.
The Bigger Picture: Crossovers and Content
The inexpensive DLC Blue Star is the foremost of the many planned Sonic Racing CrossWorlds post-launch add-ons. The main character roster is very Sonic-universe and game character-universe dense, and is to be expanded with the paid and free DLC.
The approach to content in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has two aspects. The Blue Star DLC fan DLC is the first content accessible to all, whereas the Battle Pass is for purchases and fan-walled creations.
Included in the Season Pass are:
Minecraft Pack: In the Quarter of 2025, four DLCs will be launched, where DLC 1 will add Steve, Alex, and a Creeper as playable characters.
SpongeBob SquarePants Pack: In Quarter 2025 DLC 2 will also release to support SpongeBob, and Patrick Star, the Patty Wagon, and the Bikini Bottom track.
PAC-MAN Pack: Released in Quarter 2026, this DLC contains PAC-MAN, the ghosts, and an accompanied PAC-MAN themed course.
Mega Man Pack: Adding Mega Man and Proto Man along with the Rush Roadster and a Wily Castle track. (Due in Q1 2026)
Custom Packs: Additional content packs are planned until Q3 2026.
In addition, the game will include new characters such as Joker from Persona, Kasuga Ichiban from Yakuza, and the virtual idol Hatsune Miku as updates at no additional charge. This approach helps to keep Sonic Racing: Cross Worlds exciting for everyone.
Don’t Miss The Blue Star
Adding the Blue Star Extreme Gear to your collection is easy and simple, but it is also free for a limited time. Linking your SEGA account to Sonic’s history pays off in more ways than one. Use the code before October 30, 2025, and in Sonic Racing: Cross Worlds, you’ll be riding this classic hoverboard.

If you’re playing the game, this is a great time to check out the SEGA rewards page for other free stuff, free things like for Persona 3: Reloaded and Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. The world of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is growing fast, and there has never been a time as great as now to enjoy high-speed, character-based racing.
