The high-fashion witchcraft world with looter-shooters are now connecting and it is about to get very interesting. During the Tokyo Game Show 2025, Nexon announced that the iconic witch, Bayonetta, will be joining the free-to-play game The First Descendant starting this November.
This ongoing partnership with Nexon and the game demonstrates the commitment to alteraing and refreshing the game with witch Bayonetta scheduled to be the next major addition. The event is expected to alsoweight the battle with supernatural witchcraft for the players. This also comes as a surprise for fans of PlatinumGames since they get to see her in this new context .
An Impressive Blend of Art Styles
The incorporation of the two was announced with a trailer that furnished the elegance of the character. The character Bayonetta, is described as a perfect addition for The First Descendant. The combat from action game she is just as present in The First Descendant and feels just as amazing in Bayonetta. There is a part of the trailer where the character Gley incorporates and as well as uses the combat mechanics of Bayonetta.
Maybe the most important part of the gameplay is the features including Bayonetta’s ‘Witch Time’. This feature time dodged at the last moment of being attacked is time slown. The trailer shows Gley time slown at the height of a projectile storm and completed a fight. This is a very Bayonetta-like fight. This will make the most hardcore fans happy and will add another layer of strategy to the gameplay.
What is Coming Next
The new feature will be available on all platforms starting on Thursday, November 6, 2025. It is very important to know that Bayonetta will not be a new character but will be part of a new skin or cosmetic set. The content will be exclusive on Gley, the descendant, and comes as a full set cosmetic.
Players will be happy to know that Gley will be changed to Bayonetta and will have all of the Umbra Witch features including the black bodysuit and the iconic beehive hairstyle.
This is the second big crossover The First Descendant has done so far in 2025, after introducing skins for 2B and A2 from the acclaimed video game NieR: Automata in August.

Bayonetta can also use her magical hair to summon demonic creatures to assist her in combat with attacks called Wicked Weaves. After 500 years of hibernating and losing her memories, she sets on a whimsical and stylish journey of self rediscovery. Ever since, the character created by Hideki Kamiya with artwork from Mari Shimazaki has been unique and well known in the action games world for her seductive, powerful, and stylish attitude.
Looking ahead
As part of the wave of celebrations for the announcement, Nexon has a developer livestream scheduled for today September 26 at 5 PM PT 8 PM ET. The stream from the Tokyo Game Show Bayonetta cosplay will stream the first preview of the update planned for October 1. The stream will also feature the new Sword weapon, and the new dungeon everyone has been excited for.
